This year, for the first time, the town’s organisations have joined together to form Thirsk
Events Group and appointed a manager to run the 2007 Thirsk Festival.
We plan to develop a year-round programme of events and hence create a genuine “Festival Town.”
People from the Thirsk area have a great deal of enthusiasm, imagination and
entrepreunerial spirit and I can see a great potential to develop new and exciting events.
As chairman of Thirsk Regeneration Initiative and Thirsk Events Group, I believe Thirsk
Festival is well-established and with full-time, professional commitment can look forward
to its continuity and development of Thirsk as a Festival Town.
I hope you will enjoy this year’s programme and participate in as many events as possible.
